Bring Your Volvo in for a Spring AC Service

You rely on your Volvo’s air conditioner to keep you cool all summer long. East Coast EuroWerks would be happy to inspect the air conditioning system now to make sure nothing needs to be done before summer hits. You do not want to end up with a faulty air conditioner in the middle of summer. We will inspect the air conditioning system thoroughly to make sure it is ready, willing, and able to do its summer job.

Compressor Service

For example, we will service the compressor to make sure it is operating as it should be. Because it hasn’t been run all winter long, the compressor can actually malfunction the first time you turn on your Volvo’s air conditioner. We will inspect the compressor and test it to make sure it compresses the refrigerant and circulates it through the air conditioning system.

Condenser Service

We will also service the condenser. This is the air conditioning part that keeps the refrigerant cool. It does so by using the air that flows through your vehicle’s grille and a condenser fan. The condenser is located behind the grille so it can take advantage of the airflow. This location, however, can work to the condenser’s disadvantage if it gets damaged by road debris.

Fan Service

The condenser fan can also be damaged by road debris. As such, we will inspect the fan and test it to make sure it turns on every time the condenser needs the added air to cool off the refrigerant. Your air conditioning system will run more efficiently if these two parts are doing their jobs. We can make sure that the condenser system is a-okay.

Electrical Service

We will also service your vehicle’s electrical system to make sure you don’t have any problems that will directly affect the air conditioner. For example, your air conditioner may not turn on because you have a blown fuse. There may also be frayed wiring that needs to be replaced or the AC switch may need to be replaced. We will check the electrical system.

Refrigerant Service

Finally, a refrigerant service generally means we add refrigerant to the air conditioning system because the level is too low. This can happen if the refrigerant leaks out of the system or if it evaporates. Your Volvo will not cool off in the summer if there is low refrigerant in the air conditioning system.

Call East Coast EuroWerks in Wilmington, NC, today to schedule an appointment for an air conditioner service for your Volvo or other European automobile.
